Vitamin C Injections

Vitamin C is an essential nutrient in our diet.  It has many important roles in our body's immune function including:

  • wound healing

  • preventing damage to cells

  • building collagen

  • producing chemical messengers called neurotrasmitters

Consultation is required prior to administering an injection to check eligibility.

What is a Vitamin C Injection?

Vitamin C injections are sometimes used off-label for other conditions, including:

  • general health

  • immune function

  • weight loss

Vitamin C is believed to:

  • have anti-aging properties

  • boost the immune system

  • help the body absorb minerals

  • protect the body from chemical toxins

  • help the body ward off infection

Weight loss

Vitamin C injections are sometimes used for aiding weight loss. Research has suggested that people who don’t have an adequate vitamin C intake are not able to burn fat very well. This means that it’s important to ensure adequate intake of vitamin C when trying to lose weight.

Vitamin C for Detox

Some people look to a vitamin C load or flush when they want a rapid and effective detoxification, or to recover quickly from an illness.

Drug interactions

Vitamin C can interact with some other medications. In some cases, this can change how your body gets rid of certain medication. This in turn can change levels of some medications in your body and result in decreased effectiveness or increased side effects. Some of these medications include:

  • fluphenazine (Prolixin)

  • magnesium salicylate (Novasal)

  • mexiletine (Mexitil)

  • salsalate
